Unboxing
The phone usually comes with a 120W SuperVOOC GaN charger in the box, along with a charging cable, a protective case, and a SIM ejector tool.
Design
The Realme GT 6T doesn’t particularly stand out in the design department. It feels comfortable enough in the hand thanks to its aggressively curved sides on both the front and back. However, the phone is quite slippery and tends to collect a lot of dirt and lint in daily use. Keeping the GT 6T’s glossy back clean is a daunting task.
Speaking of the back cover, it features a unique dual-material finish. The area around the cameras uses a nano-level mirror coating technology, and the majority of the back cover is made using the Misty AG process.
Camera
One of the most significant differences that distinguishes the Realme GT 6T from its GT 6 sibling is the camera department. The GT 6T lacks the telephoto camera found on its sibling’s rear. However, the GT 6T’s dual rear cameras are powerful in their own right. Additionally, the ultrawide and selfie cameras are borrowed directly from the GT 6.
The main camera is based on one of the increasingly popular large sensors from Sony’s mobile platform, the LYT-600. It’s housed behind an f/1.9 lens with OIS. Then there’s the 8MP ultrawide camera. It has a remarkable 112-degree field of view and is powered by a massive Sony IMX355 sensor. Finally, we have the 32MP Sony IMX615 selfie camera on the front, offering a more detailed selfie experience.
In addition to the camera hardware, Realme promises AI-powered upgrades. New processing algorithms aim to improve color accuracy in various scenarios and enhance detail without spoiling the natural look of the scene in low-light scenarios.
There’s nothing particularly special about the camera UI. It’s the familiar Realme interface.
Device Performance
The Realme GT 6T runs the latest Realme UI 5.0 with Android 14. Realme promised three years of Android version upgrades and four years of security updates for the GT 6T, but did not commit to a specific release frequency and said that security updates would be released “as needed.”
Advantages and disadvantages of the device
Realme GT 6T features:-
5500 battery with support for 120-watt very fast charging, and the charger is included in the box.
Excellent performance from the SD 7+ Gen 3 processor, slightly inferior to leading processors.
The AMOLED screen is impressive in terms of resolution and colors, with a high brightness of 6000 nits, comparable to all leading phones and even surpassing most of them.
The main rear camera performs well in both high and moderate lighting.
Disadvantages of the Realme GT 6T mobile:-
The phone does not support the 3.5 mm port for headphones.
It doesn’t support memory card insertion, as usual.
It would have been better if its water resistance was higher than IP68.
It doesn’t support a dedicated telephoto or zoom lens.
The phone is a lower-end version of the Realme GT 6, with a slight difference in processor and a smaller rear camera sensor.
